Project overview
2020 has been such a crazy year for all of us, but it is still important to remember this holiday season that there are people around us who need our help.
The foster care community is in need of your support and by donating a gift or items for care kits this year, you could be making such a difference. Many youth often go the winter season without things others may view as necessities, such as warm coats and school supplies.
The Ponderosa High School Hands4Hope Club has made it easy to donate with an Amazon Registry that won't break the bank. All items will distributed by our local partner agency, Environmental Alternatives Family Services, which helped us create the list.
This season we hope you choose to give and help the children in foster care in our community have a Merry Christmas!
Thank you for helping us exceed our Goal- we collected over 200 items!

My family has been a foster family in El Dorado County for almost 6 years, and although it has been such a rewarding experience it has also given me a new perspective. The perspective of a foster child, who is often passed from house to house carrying their belongings in a small backpack or even trash bag. It’s incredibly important for these children to have something they can keep for themselves wherever they may find themselves. Having a bag to carry and an item or two in it further ensures how comfortable they will be in a home.
